Real Valladolid have strengthened their defense by signing Ghanaian international center-back Joseph Aidoo from RC Celta Vigo on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The move offers Aidoo a fresh chance to regain his form and contribute to Valladolid’s defensive stability as they battle to stay in La Liga. The 28-year-old defender began his European career in 2015 with Swedish club Hammarby before securing a move to Belgian side KRC Genk in 2017. His standout performances at Genk led to a transfer to Celta Vigo in 2019, where he established himself as a key player in their backline.

Aidoo has made 131 La Liga appearances, showcasing his defensive strength and aerial ability while also contributing three goals. However, this season has been particularly challenging for the Ghanaian. A long-term injury kept him out for most of the campaign, and since his recovery, he has struggled for playing time, making just a single one-minute appearance for Celta.

With Valladolid in need of defensive reinforcements and Aidoo eager for game time, the move seems to be an ideal fit. The club’s sporting director highlighted Aidoo’s importance, stating, “Joseph is a strong and experienced defender who will bring solidity to our backline. We believe he will be a great addition to the squad.”

As Valladolid fight to climb out of the relegation zone, Aidoo’s experience and physical presence could play a crucial role in their survival battle.
