You’ll fail if you take your know-it-all attitude to any ministry— Nitiwul counsels Mahama’s Ministers

Former Defence Minister Dominic Nitiwul has admonished new ministers not to take their know-it-all attitude to the ministries they will head.

He counsels that they will fail woefully if they intend to look down on persons who have been working at the ministry for years.

Nitiwul made this known when he was addressing the floor of Parliament on February 4, 2025.

He said, “If you enter the ministry with a mindset that I know all, you’ll not last. If you enter the ministry that my party has won, so you’ll do what you want, you’ll not last, and if you enter the ministry with the idea of making money, you’ll not last,” he said.

He gave examples of colleagues in the NPP who did not last in some ministries when they were appointed because of their approach.

Nitiwul indicated that he wishes them well because they may have sleepless nights and tough decisions, adding that “Ministers who were able to last for four and more years in any ministry must be applauded.”
