Tamale Central MP, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, has revealed that his decision to pursue a law degree was heavily influenced by his close friend and colleague, Patrick Boamah, the Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central.
Speaking in an interview with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV, Murtala Muhammed disclosed that studying law was not initially part of his plans.
“I didn’t do Law to practice, in fact, it was Hon. Patrick Boamah who insisted that I should go and do law. And he even bought the forms for me. He insisted. He is a very good friend of mine,” Murtala shared.
He further noted that his interest in law was purely academic, as he has aspirations of entering academia. “My view was to just do it for academic purposes. I may be doing LLM; I want to end up in academia,” he added.
Reacting to the interview, Patrick Boamah expressed his appreciation for the kind words. In a post on his Twitter page, he wrote:
“Thank you for the kind words Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology (@mestighofficial) & MP for Tamale Central.”
