Former Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has warned that if the dismissals under the current government are not reversed, the next New Patriotic Party (NPP) government will do worse.
A directive by the Chief of Staff has led to the dismissal of a number of Ghanaians who, according to the government, were employed after December 7, 2024.
There have been calls from the opposition for these persons to be reinstated because they are Ghanaians and have been legally employed by the government.
Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has been one of the people who have been vocal and have called on the government to reinstate sacked workers.
In a post shared via social media, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah warned that if the current government believes that displacing workers is the way to go, they should expect more of that under a future NPP government.
“One thing is for sure: If the dismissals are not reversed, we will do worse anytime we get power,” he stated in a post shared via social media.
Meanwhile, the management of NEIP has asked staff to stay at home after February 25, 2025, until issues about their employment are resolved.
A memo announcing this move said staff whose services will be needed will be consulted to return in due time.
