A scrap dealer, identified as Mumuni Abubakr, has been arrested for stealing over 200 cooking pots and saucepans belonging to food vendors in Gomoa Ojobi, located in the Central Region.
According to reports, Abubakr broke into the homes of residents, making away with cooking pots, coal pots, and other kitchen utensils, which he claimed were scrap materials.
Aggrieved women in the community, whose items were stolen, banded together to apprehend the suspect. They reported that more than 200 cooking utensils had been taken.
Residents expressed frustration over the thefts, stating that the loss of essential kitchen items has negatively impacted their businesses and disrupted the management of their homes
