President John Dramani Mahama has announced plans to incorporate a short military training programme into Ghana’s National Service Scheme (NSS).
Speaking during his State of the Nation Address on February 27, 2025, he stated that the initiative aims to instill discipline, patriotism, and leadership skills in young graduates as they transition into the workforce.
The proposed training will equip National Service personnel with basic military drills, survival skills, and emergency response techniques, fostering a sense of national duty and resilience.
Further details on the structure and implementation of the programme are expected to be outlined in the coming months.
