Chief Executive Officer for the Komfo Anokuye Teaching hospital, Prof. Otchere Addai-mensah has explained that his appointment faced opposition.
He says some people thought he was an outsider and therefore shouldn’t be given the opportunity.
However, the insistence of the King of Ashanti Kingdom Otumfuo Osei Tutu II ensured that he was given the position adding that God has been good since he took over.
“There were people who were insisting that to the extent that I was an outsider and they didn’t think that I should become the CEO. There was a woman who even questioned my age. But for the King, but for Otumfuo, I would not have become the Chief Executive of Komfo Anokye,” he said.
Until today, he explains that there are people who are unrepentant of their pursuit to take his position but that has not deterred him from pursuing things that are in the best interest of the hospital.
On his tenure of office he explained that he has a appointment that spans until November 30, 2026, however, if in the wisdom of the president he has to leave, he will leave but if the president wants him to complete his tenure he will be there to serve.
