It was a very physical game – Ogum on Berekum Chelsea clash

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum, described their match against Berekum Chelsea as ‘physical’ despite securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday.

Daniel Adjetey’s powerful strike in the 79th minute proved decisive for the Porcupine Warriors.

Speaking to the media after the match, Ogum acknowledged the difficulty of the match.

“I think that it was a very physical game,” he said. “Energy sucking game looking at the manner Chelsea played resulting in long balls. You have to jump, head, you fall, and you get up. These things get you tired so easily.”

Ogum also praised Chelsea’s aerial ability.

“They are very good in the air, when the ball goes up first balls, second balls, whether the ball is behind our defense or in front of our defense, they are always very aggressive to win the ball,” he added.

The victory extended Kotoko’s unbeaten run to six league games, winning four and drawing two.

Kotoko are top of the league standings with 45 points, one point above second-place Bibiani GoldStars.

Ogum side will be seeking a fourth league win in a row as they travel to face third-place Heart of Lions.
