Two clubs, Sung Shinning Ladies and Supreme Ladies, have been officially relegated from the Northern Zone of the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
After 18 rounds of matches, Wa-based Sung Shinning Ladies were the first to be relegated, finishing tenth on the zonal league log. The newcomers, who qualified for the elite competition last year, amassed just eight points in 18 matches, which wasn’t enough to save their Premier League status.
Joining them in relegation is Kumasi-based Supreme Ladies, whose survival struggle went down to the wire on Matchday 18. Supreme Ladies defeated Dreamz Ladies 2-1 in the regional derby on the final game day but couldn’t avoid relegation.
The two teams will play in the lower division next season.
