CAF African Schools Football Championship: Kwadwo Asamoah’s SMAC Sports Center to host Grassroots Festival for U12s on Friday, April 25

A grassroots football festival will take place at the SMAC Sports Centre off the Spintex Road on Friday, April 25, 2025, on the sidelines of  the ongoing 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship, in Accra, Ghana.

This community outreach event will bring together Under 12 boys and girls in a celebration of football. Kids from the University of Ghana Basic School, SMAC Sports Academy, and Juventus Academy will have a lifetime experience with African football legends Abedi Pele, Asamoah Gyan, Clementine Toure, Amanda Dlamini, Robert Kidiaba, Kareem Haggui and Adwoa Bayor.

The program aims to empower and inspire young girls and boys through the beautiful game of football. Participants under 12 will engage in various football activities designed to nurture their skills and passion for the sport.

The festival features training sessions led by newly trained licensed D coaches, supervision by CAF legends, and a thrilling football match between CAF Executive Committee members and GFA Executive Council members.

The 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship, ongoing at the University of Ghana Stadium, kicked off on Wednesday, April 23, and wraps up on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
