U-15 Boys rally from behind to beat Uganda to clinch Bronze at 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship

-

Ghana’s U-15 boys’ team earned a historic bronze medal after staging a thrilling comeback to defeat Uganda 2-1 in the third-place match of the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship (ASFC).

Under the guidance of coach Kwaku Danso, the young Ghanaian side displayed remarkable resilience and fighting spirit, overturning a first-half deficit to secure a podium finish at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Uganda, reeling from a semifinal defeat to Senegal on Friday, April 25, made a strong start and found an early breakthrough, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime. However, the Ghanaian team emerged from the break with renewed determination, scoring two crucial goals in the second half to turn the contest on its head.

The victory not only sealed a memorable 2-1 win but also delivered Ghana’s first-ever medal in the history of the African Schools Football Championship in the Boys Division.

The bronze medal marks a significant milestone for Ghanaian youth football and highlights the promising future of the country’s next generation of talent.
