Police discover dead body of 30-year-old Nigerian woman in India

-

The body of a 30-year-old Nigerian woman was discovered early Wednesday in a deserted area near Telecom Layout, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, a city in India.

According to The Indian Express, the body was found around 8:30 a.m. by passersby, who promptly alerted police.

Officers arriving at the scene observed signs of strangulation and a forehead injury, indicating a violent death.

Investigators suspect she may have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped at the isolated location.

Preliminary identification suggests the victim is Loveth, a native of Cross River, Nigeria. However, police say her identity and immigration status are yet to be fully verified.

“We’ve identified her name and where she was staying. But until we thoroughly examine the documents, we cannot confirm further details,” a police officer stated.

Authorities have moved the body to the mortuary at Medical College and Hospital for a postmortem examination.

Police have registered a murder case at Chikkajala Police Station and are investigating multiple angles, including possible foul play related to immigration or personal disputes.
