Ashanti Regional Division Two Promotional Tournament Kicks Off at Baba Yara Stadium

The highly anticipated Ashanti Regional Division Two Promotional Tournament began in thrilling fashion on Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, setting the stage for an intense battle for promotion to Division One.

The tournament’s opening ceremony was graced by a host of football legends and dignitaries, including Ghana’s “Golden Boy” Abdul Razak, former Black Stars players Francis Akwaffo and Mallam Yahaya, alongside respected football administrators Mr. Amofa Jantuah, Mr. Eric Oppong Agyemang, and Mr. Isaac Adu Gasper.

Ashanti Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairman Osei Tutu Agyemang, popularly known as Kotoro, performed the ceremonial kickoff to officially launch the tournament.

Match Day 1 delivered exciting fixtures and close contests. Midcity FC and Sasaamo Panin FC treated fans to a dramatic 2-2 draw, while Adom FC edged Acceler8z in a thrilling 3-2 encounter. Ebony FC secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Pro Sports FC, and Benab FC also claimed a 1-0 win over Jonnboe SC in a tightly contested match.

The tournament, which showcases some of the most promising talent in the Ashanti Region, continues over the coming days with clubs battling not just for glory but for a coveted spot in Ghana’s Division One League.

The Ashanti RFA has reiterated its commitment to developing grassroots football and ensuring a transparent and competitive pathway to the higher tiers of Ghanaian football.
