A man, believed to be in his mid-50s, was beheaded by an individual suspected of having mental challenges near the Tema Main Harbour Railways on Friday.
The alleged murderer, identified as Ali and reportedly in his 30s, decapitated the victim, who was a caretaker of a yard in the vicinity, and was seen carrying the severed head in a carrier bag.
He was later arrested and guided by police officers from the Tema Regional Police Command to the location of the body. The remains were subsequently taken to the mortuary.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not immediately clear; however, local squatters have expressed their shock regarding the event.
Mr. Isaac Adjei, a local resident, mentioned that Ali used to be one of the individuals who helped transport cargo for trucks around the harbour, noting that he began to exhibit signs of insanity over the past two and a half years.
