Franklin Cudjoe, the President of IMANI Africa, has called on suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo to withdraw her legal challenge after the Supreme Court rejected her request to stop an ongoing investigation into her behavior.
During an appearance on Channel One TV’s The Big Issue with Selorm Adonoo, Cudjoe expressed that the chances were clearly not in Justice Torkornoo’s favor, suggesting that persisting with the legal fight might be pointless.
“At this point, I genuinely believe she should just let it go, because given the current circumstances, there’s no way [she will succeed]. She will be remembered in history for her struggle. Perhaps that’s what she desires,” he stated.
Justice Torkornoo is presently under scrutiny from a presidential committee investigating petitions for her removal and had attempted to secure an injunction to stop the committee’s work. However, the Supreme Court dismissed her request on Wednesday, May 28, allowing the investigation to move forward.
Further commenting, Cudjoe characterized her predicament as both unfortunate and revealing. “It’s quite a pity and sad for her to claim that her husband and daughter should be permitted in.
