Lawrence Agyekum celebrated a significant milestone in his international career by netting his first goal for Ghana during the Black Stars’ impressive 4-0 victory against Trinidad and Tobago in the third-place match of the 2025 Unity Cup.
The 21-year-old midfielder from Cercle Brugge found the back of the net in the 59th minute, taking advantage of a critical mistake made by the Trinidad and Tobago goalkeeper.
Agyekum coolly placed the ball into the net, extending Ghana’s lead to 4-0 before he was substituted right after scoring.
This achievement came just days after his international debut, where he made an impact off the bench in Ghana’s dominant 5-0 triumph over Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium during a 2026 World Cup qualifier. Even with limited playing time, Agyekum showcased his poise and skill in midfield.
The former WAFA player’s consecutive appearances and first goal highlight his rising profile and potential within the Black Stars, as head coach Otto Addo works to incorporate promising young players into the team.
