Frank Davies, the legal representative for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, has delivered a sharp rebuttal to the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) in response to allegations that the office has not received any medical documentation to justify Ofori-Atta’s absence from scheduled appearances.
In a discussion on Citi Eyewitness News, Mr. Davies labeled the OSP’s claims as “a blatant falsehood,” voicing significant concern over what he described as a troubling lack of diligence from the Special Prosecutor.
“I have repeatedly stated that for the OSP to claim they haven’t seen that medical report is a blatant falsehood, and it is regrettable that he occupies such a public position,” Davies remarked.
The dispute originates from a statement made on June 2, 2025, by the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, asserting that Mr. Ofori-Atta had failed to provide any documentation to substantiate his health-related absence from a scheduled meeting with the OSP.
Agyebeng accused the former minister of acting in bad faith and suggested that the office’s patience had “run out.”
Nevertheless, Frank Davies countered with clear determination, asserting that the medical report was included in the court documents submitted to the OSP as early as May 27.
