Former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta is encountering increasing legal challenges, as both the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) and the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) have labeled him a wanted individual.
The two governmental bodies have reportedly commenced separate, active investigations into Mr. Ofori-Atta’s financial activities during his time as Finance Minister, indicating a heightened level of scrutiny regarding his management of public funds.
This situation arises amidst ongoing attempts by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to hold Mr. Ofori-Atta accountable for alleged financial wrongdoing.
Both EOCO and the NIB have reportedly initiated active investigations, expanding the legal examination of the former minister, who has yet to respond to multiple invitations from the OSP.
In an exclusive interview with JoyNews, the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Justice Srem-Sai, confirmed that the government has begun the process to extradite Mr. Ofori-Atta from overseas, where he is currently thought to be.
