The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has announced that the implementation of the Tariff Interpretation Order will be postponed. This order was meant to put into effect certain elements of the Energy Sector Levies (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1141).
This decision comes after a directive from the Minister of Finance, which was issued following consultations with stakeholders.
The postponed measure was set to raise the Energy Sector Shortfall and Debt Repayment Levy (ESSDRL) on specific petroleum products starting June 16, 2025.
A new date for implementation will be provided in the future.
In an official statement signed by the Commissioner-General of the GRA, Mr. Anthony Kwasi Sarpong, the Authority has instructed all ports and stations, along with relevant internal and external stakeholders, to be aware of this postponement.
This directive has been communicated to the Commissioner of Customs, sector commanders, heads of technical services, and important industry figures, including the Managing Director of Ghana Link Network Services, the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), and the Association of Oil Marketing Companies (AOMCs).
The public is encouraged to stay tuned for further updates regarding the new effective date.
