Ghana’s predatory elite come to power to alleviate their poverty at the country’s expense—Kofi Bentil

A Vice President of Policy Think Tank, IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, is of the view that Ghana has a predatory elite.

He believes that the elite in the country are people who just take advantage of the system to better their lot rather than think about the people and their lives.

Kofi Bentil was reacting to a video of Hon. Dominic Nitiwul exposing “state capture” by the NDC government before 2016, which was hampered by the majority MPs because he was exposing them.

They kept putting Nitiwul’s mic off while he was on his feet, exposing the “state capture” by the now majority in Parliament.

Defending this, Bernard Ahiafor who spoke from the Majority side, said they cannot be seen washing their dirty linen in public, adding that such issues must be addressed in private.

To him, Ghana needs to pray that there will be a time when leaders in the country will truly serve and lead for the common good and not just think of alleviating their poverty.
