Satellites Touch Down in Ismailia for final Group C Clash Against Central African Republic

-

Ghana’s Black Satellites have arrived in the Egyptian city of Ismailia ahead of their crucial Group C encounter against the Central African Republic in the ongoing TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Egypt 2025.

The final group match is set for Thursday, 8th May, at the Ismailia Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 1800 local time (1500 GMT). A win for the Satellites will seal their progression to the quarterfinals.

Head Coach Desmond Ofei expressed confidence in his side’s readiness for the challenge, emphasizing the importance of staying focused.

“We’ve prepared well and the players are aware of what’s at stake. This is a talented group, and I believe we’ll rise to the occasion on Thursday,” Ofei remarked after the team’s arrival.

The team is lodging at the Tolip El Forsan Hotel, a facility situated along the scenic banks of Lake Timsah, which offers a calm and conducive environment for recovery and final preparations.

Team captain Ofori McCarthy echoed the Coach’s sentiments, stating that morale in camp is high.

“We know it’s not going to be an easy game, but we’re determined to finish strong. We owe it to ourselves and our supporters back home to qualify,” McCarthy said.

Ghana currently sits in second place in Group C, on the same number of points (4) as Group leaders, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) following a win and a draw in the first two matches.
