Minister debunks claims of terrorists’ superiority over Nigerian military

-

The Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru, on Wednesday debunked claims that terrorists have superior fighting power over the troops of the Nigerian military.

Badaru, while speaking in Abuja, said the military possesses superior weapons and technology more than the terrorist groups.

The remark by the minister follows a claim by the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum and a lawmaker that terrorists were having a field day in the Northeast part of the country.

He also said that the terrorists were being tackled into oblivion by troops of the military.

“The issue is, this war is not a conventional war. It’s like a guerrilla war. They watch us, they have informants around us.

“They help the people that we try to protect, and they give them information, then they jump at us the way we don’t expect when they know that our surveillance mechanism is watching other directions,” Badaru said.
