GFA Multi-Purpose Court at GSCE 75% complete

-

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is nearing the completion of a new multi-purpose court at its premier training facility, the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram.

The project, which is 75% complete, is being funded through the FIFA Forward Programme and forms part of the GFA’s broader agenda to enhance the infrastructure of the national technical centre.

When completed, the court will accommodate additional sporting disciplines such as basketball and volleyball, offering a versatile space for training, recreation, and cross-disciplinary engagement. This initiative is aimed at enriching the experience of patrons and athletes who visit the GSCE.

The construction of the multi-purpose court follows the groundbreaking ceremony held in August 2024, led by President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku. Since then, work has progressed steadily, in line with the Association’s long-term infrastructure development strategy.

The GSCE has witnessed a remarkable transformation since 2019. The facility now boasts four dormitories, an administrative block, a large multipurpose hall, modern changing rooms, one natural pitch as well as two artificial turf pitches, one of which is equipped with floodlights.

In addition to the court, the GFA has commenced the construction of two natural grass pitches, which will bring the total number of natural surfaces at the centre to three.

The Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence continues to evolve into a state-of-the-art technical centre, serving not only as a home for Ghana’s national teams but also as a  training ground for clubs and regional football programs.
