Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has disclosed that since taking over, the Finance Ministry has been reviewing all existing contracts.
According to him, what he has been doing is reviewing payment requests to verify their legitimacy.
He has, therefore, shot down claims suggesting that the government has started paying contractors for their work done.
In a post shared via X, he said “Friends, Since I took office, no contractor—including Kennedy Agyapong—has been paid a pesewa.
We are currently conducting a comprehensive review of all contracts and payment requests to verify their legitimacy. Please disregard any claims suggesting that I have authorized payment to Kennedy Ohene Agyapong or any other contractor. Thank You!”
His comments come on the back of claims that some contractors of the opposition New Patriotic Party are being paid by the government.
